Netwalks are curated, lowland walks that bring professionals together in a relaxed, informal setting. No agenda, no pitch — just fresh air, good company, and the conversations that happen naturally when people walk together.
They are application-based rather than open sign-up. This isn't about exclusivity — it's about making sure every walk has the right mix of people for good conversation and meaningful connection.

A gentle walk through the Cambridgeshire countryside, followed by refreshments. Between one - two hours on foot, depending on the group and weather, no specialist equipment needed — just sturdy shoes, waterproofs if the weather turns, and a willingness to chat.

A small, curated group of professionals from across the built environment and related sectors
A relaxed pace — this is a walk, not a march

Tea / coffee and cake back at the Village Hall at the end — a chance to decompress and continue conversations
Fresh air, open sky, and a couple of hours away from the inbox
Accessibility
Please note: the outdoor walk takes place on public footpaths and tracks that may be uneven or muddy depending on conditions. It is not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility aids.
So, what might you expect to see on one of our Madingley Netwalks?
There is of course Madingley Hall itself, wildlife around the lake, and plenty of woodland. We might even find the remains of trees planted back in the days of Capability Brown. And thats just for starters.
🚶A netwalk is a walk with a purpose: fresh air, good company and proper conversation with fellow professionals — no PowerPoint, no name badges, and far better scenery than a meeting room.

Previous netwalks have taken place across the East of England, including events in Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, and further afield. Attendees have ranged from RICS members and APC candidates to local authority officers, developers, and outdoor enthusiasts looking for a different kind of professional connection.
